Wedding caterer – how to choose your caterer

Posted in Wedding catering, catering at 11:01 pm by Sandyskitchen

Are you planning to get married in near future? Did you choose your caterer? If not then keep reading. Wedding catering is easy if you choose right caterer. So how do you do that?

How to select a caterer? The easiest way (may not be best) is to search on internet. Ask friends, family and colleagues if they have catered an event, and who they used. Personal recommendations can help but may not give you best caterer. Also, wedding fairs, consultants and party planners can make recommendations. If you are planning an event at a reception hall, the facility may offer catering services (many times restrict caterers), or be able to suggest a caterer. When you begin looking for a caterer, look specifically at those that offer the sorts of menus you envision for your event. Interview several caterers to select the one best suited for your wedding, party or reception. Visit their kitchen and request for tasting. Visting kitchen and tasting will help you to select right caterer. Compare prices and check pictures of past events. By then you will get good idea of a caterer who will work well with you.

For example Sandy’s Kitchen in Salt Lake City offers free tasting sessions. They also offer most economical cost and elegance. Call them to check and compare. Good starting point.

Thanksgiving is over. Leftover turkey is also over or is given to guests. However, this month till Christmas, holiday dinners are generally around turkey and ham. What do you do with leftover turkeys? In this economy, it does not make sense to dispose in garbage. Some of webpages discussing these ideas are listed below.

Good hair tips

Posted in Uncategorized at 11:28 pm by Sandyskitchen

For a good hair here a 10 tips for you:

1- Six months before the wedding, have a major consultation with your stylist of choice. Bring along the headpiece and the picture of the dress if possible. The more the stylist knows about the mood of the wedding, the better he or she can create the perfect hairstyle.

2- Do not use the portrait session as the “dress rehearsal”. There should actually be a “test run” for the portrait.

3- During the “test run,” walk around with the hairstyle you plan to wear to determine its comfort level. A good rule is: the simpler, the better, since pins can hurt, and intricate styles are often delicate.

4- Consider the time of day and type of wedding when choosing a style. Loose styles are appropriate for informal or daytime weddings, while up-do’s portray a formal, evening look.

5- Remember that some hairstyles can add inches to a bride’s height, and shorter brides may want to use this to their advantage.

6- Do not have any chemical treatments the day of the wedding. That is not the time for surprises!

7- Hair color looks its best the first two weeks, so have your hair colored a week to two weeks before the wedding.

8- If a permanent wave is necessary, have it done a month prior to the wedding.

9- Hair that is too fine and over-conditioned does not style well, so deep conditioning treatments should not be used within four days of the wedding. For best styling results, shampoo hair lightly the day before the wedding and, if possible, do not wash hair the day of the wedding.

10- Stylists and makeup artists do their best work in their own environments with their own tools, so have your wedding party meet at the salon a couple of hours before they need to be at the ceremony for pictures. This increases efficiency, (and usually costs less!)

Appetizer ideas

Wedding ideas:

Appetizer Tables
Passed hors deuvres, while elegant, can drain your catering budget. Consider
instead an appetizer table. And don’t fret that this decision will scream “low
end.” Infuse the table with creative displays – even a vegetable tray can be served
with an elegant presentation. Ask Sandy about her floating displays. Wedding
catering with floating displays is new trend and Sandy’s Kitchen can provide it at
economical prices.
